Hi
What about something like Atkins diet? It’s like any diets they aren’t permanent, it’s about eating more protein and cutting right back on carbs.
Exercise isn’t easy at all for this condition. Has your GP referred you to a dietician? They can also test to check no other issues.
I Agree with seeing a dietitian. I've almost always had a fat and swollen belly, and I'm pretty fit on weeks without endo flares. Cutting out gluten I lost 5 inches off my waist but the fat ain't going anywhere even when I can do 45 minute core sessions at the gym. I learned that messing with body fat percentages mucks up hormones. So I'm sticking with my love handles at 24% bodyfat. 😊
I followed the body coach app and lost inches and weight. I haven't excercised for a few months now either due to back issues and I've kept it off.
Hi
This is so hard when you have endo. I honestly have struggled with my weight over the last 2 years.
If you are on birth control or like me on prostrap/zoladex injections then they can affect your weight. I have just come off them and my body feels so much better. As in my joint pain but not endo pain. 😬
I also started taking orlistat 120mg prescribed by the GP and asked for a referral to weight management services. Currently have a 9 month wait. 🥺. I have been on a calorie deficit and have a personal trainer. It was my personal trainer who has told me that there is something else going on as I literally have only 1 pound in 4 months. Hence going to GP.
I also have an underactive thyroid. Have you had yours checked?
Keep going dont give up.
I got one of those weighted hula hoops aswell. It has helped with losing inches on my stomach.
Wish you the best 💜
I’m on Prostap too and gained about 10kg since November last year. I am sure my weight gain has nothing to do with my lifestyle as I go to the gym at least 3 days a week and track my calories. I’ve been referred to the weight management program and honestly it made me feel so much worse, to the point that I abandoned the sessions. It is like a weight watchers meeting where you share your weight with the coach and watch a ‘webinar’ sort of thing about things you can do to lose weight - I already do all of them and nobody listens. Feels like going back to pre diagnosis of endo where I had to convince doctors of what I was feeling. Hopefully once I come out of the Prostap I will lose my 12 month pregnant belly 🤡
I know exactly how you feel. It took me 15 years to get diagnosed with endo. My weight i know is the same. I tracked my weight alongside the injections and you can see a clear correlation. My weight before had not changed for years. My diet is good I eat well. Dont have a fatty or fried foods. Most of mine is steamed and I stopped cooking with any oils over 18 months ago. I even have poached eggs. Its only in the last 4 months that the endo specialist and my GP have agreed that it is the injections. Hence I have stopped them so i can have surgery. 😤. Now I just say to them I know my body! You don't.
i am exactly the same but you sound like your diets much better than mine
I have gained 3 stone x
I have gained 4 stone over 2 years. I lost a stone and then it just stopped coming off. I never took birth control as I tried it in my early 20's and I gained weight on it. Got my endometriosis diagnosis in June 2020 and didnt really have a choice but to go onto the prostrap and then zoladex as I was in hospital on morphine twice a month. I could no longer live the pain. Finally have an op date this year after 3 years if they don't cancel it. 🤲
i dont think i could doa hula hoop with my mobility issues I will not give up I have been on prostap for over a year it has destroyed my waist line
I will ask doctor for help again
Thanks x
It isn't that big one as I can't do that either anymore because of the pain. Its the one with the links as you lose inches you take a link out. Stays on your waist and doesn't fall down. I have had private physio on and off when I could afford it to keep mobile. I have come off Prostrap and zoladex now only been a few weeks so going to see if that helps me keep weight off. Justin Agustin on Instagram is brilliant. He gives you lots of tips for and adjustments to exercises. The website is below. I just follow the free stuff on Instagram.
Awwy thank you for sharing and it's so good to know the steps you are following to address this issue. I too have experienced, what I now know was endo related weight gain (but there was other factors too). What's this weighted hula hoop thing???
Hi Together we are strong. There are lots on amazon and ebay. I got mine on offer.
Weighted Hula Hoop,Smart Hula Hoop with Weight Ball 24 Knots Detachable and Adjustable Fitness Hula Hoops and Auto Spinning Weighted Ball for Kids Adults Wight Loss/Exercise/Slimming-Blue amzn.eu/d/d2u7i59
Im a size 22 so this has fitted me. Before the zoladex injections I was a size 14.
Just read the reviews and get one that is good quality. Some of the one that are £10 are cheap and will break easily. Happy hooping.
I pray I start losing the weight. I have lost 2 inches off my waist. X
i hate prostap
I have been referred to weight management also who couldnt help me because of my complex medical history ( total fob off)
I track what I eat and go to 2 gym classes a week as well as doing between 7-10k steps a day
I am starting to hate myself the way I look and feel its mainly my tummy
Ladies, I know how you all feel, I promise. My Mum recently watched the rise of my tummy over 2-3hours (she too had endo and my Dad would tell the Doctor ((it's that far back)) that she had pain and passed out in the morning because she didn't eat breakfast????...
Sometimes, I like the feeling of something tighter on my midrif to 'hold' me in and other times I need something very baggy and loose. I struggle exercising as it can inflame my endo, so I do a lot of stretching around the house (kitchen work tops, led down on my bed) it's not invasive, you control the movement and it feels like you are unlocking and releasing your energy to flow around and through your body.
