Applying for PIP

hey guys , I applied for PIP yesterday, and as far as I’m aware I’m entitled to it - however I have seen that others have struggled to get accepted. I included factors that effect me such as my depression and pain etc. I’ve recently had a laparoscopic surgery that diagnosed me with the condition with future plans for removal.

Yet I don’t really have any documentation to upload, will this mean I will get declined?

Any help please 🙏🏻

I have got big fat zero points after my phone assessment 😄 I filled PIP forms myself. I have documentation about my diagnosis and upcoming surgery.

They said you can talk, you can walk, you only taking cocodamol so you are not in pain and you are not entitled 🤷‍♀️

If you will have a phone assessment, call them before and say that you want your conversation to be recorded.

One week after your assessment call DWP (waiting time on line about an hour) and ask for a copy of your assessment.

If your decision letter “delayed “ in the post, call DWP and say you need an extension of time for MR.

I am using Fightback4justice for my MR now. They have asked for GP consent letter. More likely I will go to a tribunal.

Also you can find a lot of useful information at benefitsandwork website 💛

Hi,You can get copies of medical information from your GP online NHS account,it'll contain letters from Consultants and also have your medical history. Find out how to access it yourself because some GPs charge a fee.

Also try benefits and work website-invaluable guide material.

Hey Adnalim your journey is all too familiar, but let's not wallow in the negative. You can request a copy of all of your medical records FOC (free of charge) under the GDPR (general data protection regulation). It's your information, you have the right to request and if need be challange it, they have 30 days (1 month )to comply and if they have not and not contacted you to explain why they need more time then you can escalte this to:

england.dpo@nhs.net.

You are entitled to any information that ANY company holds about you under GDPR and as long as the request is 'reasonable' they have to comply.

I hope this helps and please keep us updated, you never know when you're making a difference and this could be now x
