No imaging taken during lap?

Hi, has anybody else had a diagnostic laparoscopy with no imaging taken? My results from the lap were that I had no abnormalities, done by a general gynaecology surgeon, and my GP is stalling on referring me on to anything until I have waited another couple of months to see if the ongoing pain calms down, so I had wanted to use the Endometropolis group on FB as recommended on my previous post. However with no images I am stumped!

Is it common practice to not have photos taken during a diagnostic lap?

I don't know for sure, but I suspect so. I'm sure I've seen a petition or something about this issue. The only image I've seen in my file is of the single lesion they (general gynae) found during my lap, so perhaps some only take photos of abnormalities. It would be nice if there were more images to get a specialist to look at in case they spot something/something else. I'm really sorry you're in this position.

It must be done by a specialist! I can't believe it that you got a surgeon with no experience in endo!!!!!! I feel terrible for you. 😱😭 Remain strong and go find another one but a real specialist this time and make sure to ask on the day of your surgery if it's your specialist doing it if not walk out!

I wish I had found this forum before the op; I had no idea there were specialists or that there is a difference in diagnosis rates between gynaecology surgeons and the pros, I thought that I was being sent to someone capable. Now my doctor is saying that because I have already had a lap with nothing found they will not refer me to have another one and made some offhand comment about how I should be grateful that I don't have endometriosis, and many people just have unexplained pain and they just have to learn to live with it. That is the second doctor who has essentially called me ungrateful for wanting a diagnosis!
