Hello all, I have Endo & have joined the long line of strong ladies waiting for a laproscopy.

I had a scan 2 years ago and they discovered a fibroid. I have attended a webinair with a very interesting consultant regarding the connection between endo & fibroids. I understand that fibroids can grow.

So for the past 7 months I have been trying to get another scan to see what's happening down here. I have been told by various drs, they don't grow!! I wanted to be sure as I understand they do.

Reluctantly, my Dr agreed.

A week ago I had my scan. The original fibroid hasn't grown, however it has now been joined by another 3. The largest being 4cm. I was told then this scan would be passed on to my gynae.

I have now received an appt to see him in a couplr if weeks. Everything seems to be moving a bit quicker.

So, the message I'm trying to tell everyone is please push for a scan, if you think something isnt right. Things do change regarding fibroids.

Glad you had a repeat scan. I also have a fibriod that was detected two years ago and thought that was causing all my problems. Had a lap nov 2022 and found out I also have endo but the fibriod is too small for them to remove it. Asked gp recently for a repeat ultrasound scan to check fibriod size as haven't had a scan since it was first detected so 2 years ago. Luckily mine has stayed the same size

I'm glad yours hasn't grown, not good news about the endo. could I ask you something, hope you dont mind? when they discovered the endo did they do anything about it whilst you were having your laproscopy?

I'm worried I'm waiting all this time for my lap (ariund 1.5yrs) for them to then put me on another waiting list for treatment.

So because my ultrasound that showed the fibriod didn't show anything else. The gynae I got reffered to said symptoms sound like endo so got put on the list for a dignostic lap. The gynae surgeon that did my surgery said just before the surgery if they find superficial endo then they she will remove it but if it looks deep then will need to be referred to endo specialist. When she did the surgery she found a deep nodule of endo on the left uterosacral ligament and superficial in pouch of dogulas so none was removed. Been referred to endo specialist and got appointment coming up then will have to wait again for surgery. I have been in pain most days. Its tough having surgery then finding out you need another so it's not ideal. What symptoms do you have?

Blimey , poor you. Why on earth can if they think its endo get a specialist to do the lap first thing. More waiting about. My symptoms are deep right sided pain, goes through to my back, almost daily. Pain on intercourse.

Living of codeine to try to ease the pain. I'm in scotland told the lap list is around 2 years.

It's crazy we are going through this. Take care of yourself.

Yeah exactly. Seems like a waste of time just doing a dignotic lap without treatment. That's exactly what my pain is like. Is it lower right? Mines nearly daily too. Aww that's awful such a long waiting time as well 😫 it is crazy and not nice living with it

I've learnt that not all gynaes specialise in endo. I did look at going private. I could pick a consultant who specialiste in this, the 1st appt was £200, which was reasonable. However, to get a laproscopy was from £3-£7 K which is crazy. I'm waiting to see the pain clinic regarding pain management. I'm hoping if they could give me something to numb the pain I could keep going until I get my laproscopy. I'm not sure if your a reader. I have just finished " the endometriosis natural treatment programme by valerie Ann warlord. it's really good. it has some interesting natural treatments. there is a section on self massage with aroma oils. I strongly recommend.

I think I'm willing to try anything that could help.

Take care of yourself x Shell

Yeah it's awful how expensive going private is. Hope the pain management can prescribe better pain meds. I've still prob got a long wait too. So I will ask about being reffered to the pain team. Yeah I have read a book about endo written by Wendy and she discussed natural treatment too. Take care too x
