Questions for surgeons before hysterectomy ??

I have app on Wednesday with my Cyne surgeon and Colorectal surgeon.

I have Endo, endometrioma ,fibroids with bowel involved. Previously Gyne recommended hysterectomy.

Any suggestions which questions should I ask them during my app?

Im sorry to hear this. You not alone i have the same issues and waiting a hysterectomy too.

I asked about the risks associated with the surgery?

What the odds were of the best and worse case scenarios?

What follow up care will be offered?

Recovery time following surgery.

What you can and cannot do and for how long?

I also asked what they were removing..

I.e is it all my cervix or just my womb? My tubes?

Would they leave any ovaries in tact depending on what they find?

Will I need a stoma? Is it reversible and how long to reverse it?

Will I need a catheter (I also have endometriosis on my bladder). Healing time and when they would reverse it?

I may also need a stent from my kidney to bladder as my urtheras are involved? What does that mean and how effective is it?

Think if you ask them for a breakdown of exactly what they are going to do your questions will come naturally.

Are you leaving your ovaries? I have read some stories and women said that removal causes a lot of problems in a future 💛

Dont know what conditions they are in as they are stuck to the back of my uterus and my bladder is stuck to the back of that. I know I have endometriosis grown in the tubes and cysts on them. So they cant tell me until they see them.
