Hi everyone,
It's been over one month since I was emailed my MRI results. I have yet to speak to my gynecologist to discuss them in depth. I waited a month to speak to my GP and she couldn't answer a single question. I am losing my mind.
If anyone can shed any light on the results that would be so helpful... I feel somewhat vindicated but also very sad that I didn't push for an MRI harder a few years ago and advocate as strongly for myself as I do today. I wish I'd paid for one when I was 25 rather than wait until 30.
GYNAECOLOGIST "The MRI has not demonstrated any active endometriosis, however there is suggestion there is some blood within the right fallopian tube. The left ovary is likely to be tethered to the back of the womb. In addition to this, there may be area in the vagina which could represent endometriosis on the scan, but this needs to be assessed during an examination, which I am sure you would prefer to be under anaesthetic."
MRI TECH: "Conclusion:
1. Possible tethering between the left ovary and lateral uterine serosa.
2. No active ovarian endometriotic deposit but there is a presumed right haematosalpynx and a small nodule of indeterminate soft tissue change in contact with the right vaginal vault. This may reflect an old endometriotic deposit.
Clinical assessment of this area is required."
I also have an iud which has ruined my life for the past 2 years. They thought it was in the wrong position due to my pain. I was in less pain before the iud and I was a completely different woman despite it all.
I've had two transvaginal ultrasounds which came back clear prior to the MRI.
*I believe IUDs are not ideal for patients with tilted wombs. They have confirmed mine is tilted. This is something I told the gynaecologist who placed the iud ( a different doctor to the one I am seeing now btw) she never confirmed if my suspicions were right but at least I finally know for certain.
Any advice very welcome if anyone has ever had similar issues! I'm concerned about my fertility too
