Utrogestan dosage for Endometriosis
Hello, apologies for late reply I've only just joined. I have taken 200mg Utrogestan at bedtime for a couple of years now for endo and it has reduced my pain to almost nothing (I have some endo in my groin/gut etc). I have had no side effects from Utrogestan but then I'm sure my estrogen/progesterone balance is very off so might be why?! I'm even considering upping it to 300mg for a trial as my endo is still progressing. The recommended dosage I've seen is 100-300mg. Let's just say I had to rather convince my doctor to let me trial 200mg. Best of luck
Hi Efka, do you take Utrogestan continuously? Thank you!
Hi, yes I do - utrogestan does not stop/change my period pattern so doctor is happy with me taking them continuously. I’m pretty sure I’ve always been low on progesterone. I think had it stopped my period he might have wanted me to use them cyclically but to be fair if the choice was less endo pain and no periods I’d still take utrogestan continuously as for me I see them as far less “evil” than most other pharmaceuticals offered. I hope that helps, hugs
Thank you is the dose higher if you have endometriosis and have you had any bad side affects from them or weight gain? Thanks
Hi so sorry for the late reply, only saw this now... I'm actually not sure what the dose would be for other issues - from what I've read a common range is 100-300mg.
For endo I saw gynea recommendations of 200mg so that is what I asked my doctor for and thankfully got prescrbed.
Luckily I have had no side effects, I did start with 100mg and then went up to 200mg. Possible weight gain (or maybe just peri-menipause or "lockdown years" of lots of coffee and cake ). For me though lowering the pain almost completely makes me feel it is worth it for me right now. Take care
