Hi, I'm exactly the same. Had the prostap injection 10 days ago and the pain is worse, feeling really tired and very sore boobs. I was told this would happen initially and then it would settle down. X
Hi, I was diagnosed 5 years ago. I have a cyst on each ovary. They got bigger last year and have now shrunk slightly, probably because I'm nearly 50. I've been on the mini pill since August but bled constantly. Surgery is risky as there is endo near my bowel. Consultant said it should become inactive after menopause so trying to hold on till then. This injection is my last hope really as nothing else worked, had a coil which fell out a couple of years ago. Annoying thing is I didn't have that many symptoms when on no treatment, just heavy painful periods., but I have to be on something to help control the endo. I hope your symptoms settle down to xx
hi lovely ☺️ I’m sorry you’re going through this, how upsetting for you. My symptoms were worse the first month on zolodex too. I was told by my Consultant this sometimes happens because the ovaries get overactive before the zolodex switches them off.
Does that make sense?
Now, our bodies are all so different and you might be experiencing something unique to your body here. But you could maybe talk to the Consultant’s Secretary and explain. See what they say?
I was then given Tibilone HRT to add back the hormones. Again, our bodies are unique to us and I can’t comment on your experience here.
Hopefully this might comfort you in some way but also monitor it and take action if it carries on.
Thinking of you and sending you all the luck in the world for this x x x x x
Hey, l am so sorry to hear this but unfortunately worsening symptoms are a very well know initial effect of zolodex/prostap & this should have been explained to you. Im not surprised it wasnt as l wasnt informed of this either & the first few weeks after my first injection were terrifying l had a massive hormonal bleed with terrible pain, l was petrified. When l went for my second monthly injection the nurse told me almost nonchalantly that yes that happens in some cases up until the third month & l should have been told!
Stay strong, us endo warriors are good at that and try and stick with it, l hear some people have wonderful results with it. I would also say if you dont feel its right or helping speak up.
I hope this eases your mind a bit & l hope it starts to have a positive effect very soon for you xxx
