I’m due to have a laparoscopy on Wednesday to see if I have endometriosis.
I was just wondering if having a tilted uterus makes any difference in them finding endo? I have constant pain in my lower back, pain when going to the toilet and sometimes blood in stools. The pain is horrendous when on my period and pain can also increase throughout cycle.
Obviously no one wants endo, but I’m so worried they’re not going to find anything, and they’re going to say it’s all in my head. I know deep down it isn’t, but after being fobbed off for so long, it makes you question yourself.

Mine is tilted too and they managed to find and remove endometriosis from different places in my pelvis. I read somewhere that endo is actually a condition that can lead to a tilted uterus due to the scarring it causes so the two are linked.
I think as long as the surgeon is an endo specialist they’d be able to spot the disease. If they tell you they didn’t find anything it might be worth getting a second opinion from a specialist, ideally at a BSGE endo clinic.
Thank you for your reply, unfortunately he is a general gyne. I didn’t know there was endo specialists until joining this forum. Hopefully he still manages to find it, but yes think I will have to get a second opinion if not. X
My uterus is retroflexed possibly due to the endo at the back of it - the specialist had no problems in finding it during laparoscopy. I think they specifically look at all areas whilst they are in there and systematically check them all off a list. Best wishes.
