It is still being said that MRI is far superior to ultrasound for the detection of endo (endometriomas and deep disease) which is not the case. It isn't black and white; it is about the training and skills of the operator in the case of ultrasound, which requires advanced training, and the protocol used for MRI.
As we move away from laparoscopy for diagnosis and make advances in the field of imaging we need to educate our GPs and request a suitably trained sonographer when being referred for suspected endo.
