Hi All,Just had my specialist appointment with Endometriosis Consultant (although didn't get to see him as emergency came in so it was with his colleague).I have endo around sigmoid colon and POD. Relatively clear around ovaries but left side adherent to pelvis wall and a few cysts and pendulated fibroid on uterus.
I thought I was going to be put forward for a hysterectomy but they suggested 3 months on Dienogest and to have an MRI of pelvis which won't be for 3 months or so, and then go from there...
Is anyone else taking Dienogest? Does it help with pain?
Thanks 🙂 x

I wish I'd had your gynecologist, mine wants me to have a hysterectomy even though it does not cure endometriosis, and has said she will take me off the medication that has sorted out my problems, so I'm pretty miffed to be honest.
So sorry to hear that. I can understand why you're miffed! My first consultant told me after a laparoscopy, that hysterectomy will be my only option, so I was fully expecting to be told that yesterday, and was starting to accept it too....
My consultant also recommended I consider Dienogest, I did some searching on here and there seemed to be quite severe effects on mood whilst on it, but naturally everyone's experience will differ. This was quite a helpful study I found which lays out the research behind it's use which seems to be favourable ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...
I did some research too after posting yesterday and was a bit upset to see negative reviews... it panicked me a bit but I'll have a look at the link - thanks 😊
