I.U.D?? Is it any use

I'm coming up 31 and suffered with heavy periods since I was 12, I told my doctor I want to try for kids, however I feel like this is ignored and they keep saying that I need to have a merina coil put in to see if that helps. My question is has this helped anyone, I am now on day 26 of heavy periods and I am so depressed, I don't know what to do.

Mirena’s saved my life and for 17 years pain free and a light period requiring only a panty liner for 3 days. 2006-2018 no symptoms with Mirena Coil.

Do it! You want specific advice, let me know.

have you had any investigation at all? If not tell the doctor you want to be referred to a specialist and that firstly you need an ultra sound scan. Just tell them as fact. No debate. The most important thing I’ve learnt is that you have to take your health into your own hands and tell the dr what to do. Secondly, the Mirena coil was the best decision I ever made it gave me my life back. I appreciate it doesn’t work for everyone. No periods, little pain in ten years however each coil is intended to remain for five years and if you want to try for children of course this will stop that for as long as it’s there. Your periods aren’t normal, it’s unacceptable to expect you to live like this. Insist on investigation and take it from there dependant upon what’s found. Good luck x

I have stage 3 endo & had the mirena implant in Feb 2022. It was the best decision ever. I barely have a period. I suffer from headaches now & again but nothing else. I wish I had this done sooner! There needs to be more positive feedback re mirena as it does work.
