Just attended my appointment today. The lady I had was so helpful she showed me a 3D diagram on her iPad of what everything should look like vs what mine looks like (bowel and womb stuck together and my left ovary and fallopian tube which is stuck to the wall on the left side) which was very interesting to see. I am still waiting for my MRI scan which I'm still on the waiting list for to see how deeply penetrated the endo is and if it is affecting my bowel. I have also been put on the waiting list for extensive endo surgery which is a 5-6 month waiting list and during the surgery they will also be checking for cysts on my ovaries and putting a dye on my tubes to see if they are blocked. Also, the lady had explained which I have never heard of before that even though endo isn't cancer it does act like cancer.
I do definitely feel a lot more at ease after my appointment as I managed to ask loads more questions and the lady was very understandable and did not rush me at all. I did also bring my mum that also asked a lot of questions for me as well and I definitely feel a lot more educated on my diagnosis.
Has anyone had the extensive surgery before, if so, how did this go and what was your recovery like?
