Just wondered if anyone had a period after having the GnRH injection? I had my first injection on 17th October, on 30th October I have started a heavy painful period. It did stop a month long period I was having and I was hoping that was that and I wouldn't bleed again whilst on the injections, or maybe that was me wishful thinking. Just wondered what everyone else's experiences have been on these injections.

GnRH injection
hi I was on zolodex and I it was a couple of years ago now but I’m sure I started on the day of my period. For me after that period and the 1st injection of zolodex I didn’t bleed again. I just had quite awful menapause symptoms so they added HRT in at low dose. I would give it until your next one is due to see if it’s making a difference. I know some ladies have still bled and still experienced less pain and other symptoms. Good luck 🤞
Yes I had one the next month. The spotting eventually stopped a couple of weeks after.
Hi, I had this happen as well. It thankfully stopped into the 2nd month. My consultant said if it isnt given on exactly the right point (first day of period, or when that should be if on the mini pill) then you will bleed. But they only told me this after the bleeding! It was awful but it did stop for me.
I can say 4 months into Zolodex, and my life is totally different. Some of the menopause symptoms are a bit hard, but I am pain free, I have no bloating and I have no bleeding. My acne skin has cleared up too. It is the best I have felt in over 15 years! I have my fingers crossed for you. 😘
I just kept on the same programme of injections every 28 days and it sorted itself all out, but if worried defo give your GP/consultant a shout x
hi, yes I did. Gynecologist told me it’s because your ovaries rev up before being switched off. If that makes sense?
I had my first jab on the 19th October and bled for three days painfully on the 21st October. I’m now 2 weeks in, and the menopause symptoms have started and my pain has reduced massively! From taking strong opioids regularly, to just paracetamol occasionally!
