I was wondering if anyone had had the gnrh analogues, I’m currently on prostrap, where they found that there symptoms got better to begin with but the then have got gradually worse again. If you had this and then had a hysterectomy did you find any benefit?
Thanks

the way the prostap usually works is that your symptoms will get worse at the start, you will have a good inbetween, and then symptoms return at the end. i had a 3 month one and roughly found first 3 weeks really bad, 6 weeks in the middle ok, and then last 3 symptoms returned. i had one on its own and menopausal side effects were terrible and then next time took tibilone hrt and was much better. i have just had a total lap hyster right salpingo ooperectomy with removal of cervix and stage 4 endo excision. its been a hard few months but i am definately seeing some benefits now.
i also had adenomyosis and pelvic congestion syndrome along side the stage 4 endo.
Thanks. I’ve been having them 10 weekly sine December 2016. The first few times I saw some benefit. However the last two I’ve just got significantly worse, since November it’s just getting worse.
a lot of my symptoms were related to my period, severe pain, flooding etc. the hyster has 100% improved that so my quality of life is so much better now than it was. dont get me wrong im still recovering from my op as i only had it end of sept and i am having some pains still but it is loads better than before.
I would echo dawntildusk in saying that the prostap tended to be a rough few weeks after each injection, a good 6/7 weeks then increasing pain as fed the injection wears off. I only had my TAH + BSO on Friday so can’t say if it’s beneficial yet, but my surgeon said my uterus was really small and shrunken as an effect of the prostap killing it off so I’m hopeful that once I’m well I will have a new pain free life. Good luck.
