endometrioma and stage of disease?

Good evening ladies..

I've had endometriosis for a few years now after having surgery to remove a rare pelvic tumor. Since then I've had two further surgery's to remove ovarian endometriomas and both surgery's were done urgently on cancer pathway. I was treated for minimal endometriosis in my POD and adeshions from my colon and ovary to pelvic side wall, 3rd surgery i was was told i had a single adhesion in POD alongnside the endometrioma. I was never told what stage i was. Anyone have any idea what stage i woud be classed as?

My last surgery I was told my endometrioma had reoccurred within 3 months of my surgery even thought the last surgery excercised the endometrioma. I opted for no treatment as I wasn't having any issues I've never really had any major issues aside from permanent IBS type symptoms which can be pretty bad sometimes. I forgot about the small endometrioma after my last surgery, however I'm starting to become symptomatic again and have been send for an urgent scan. I guess what I'm wanting to know is what questions I should be asking if the endometrioma is still there. The though of having another surgery is filling me with dread. Have people managed thier endometrioma conservatively, if so how? Aremy horrendous bowl issues related to my endometriosis?

Hi Lindle

I had adeshions from my sigmoid colon to pelvic side wall and left Overy and my recurrent endometrioma on my right Overy. Although I was noted to have spots of endometriosis on my left Overy in the very first surgey I had to removed a pelvic tumor. In subsequent surgeries my left Overy has been classed at normal but my right Overy has this recurrent endometrioma for which exercision was used remove but was told in follup scan it has recurred.

many thanks

Hi,

I had surgery to remove a large endometrioma last year and they found widespread endometriosis and lots of adhesions everywhere. They told me i was stage 4.

I also opted for no treatment post surgery to see how i went. It was all good for a few months and then symptoms started coming back. I went through the usual tests and i now have endometriomas on both ovaries. I wish i had of taken some sort of hormone treatment as soon as the surgery was over now as a year later im in the exact same pain all the time.

They have given me the mirena coil now but this was to see if it would stop the growth of the cysts not get rid of them. I am just waiting on scan results to see if this is the case. Although i do think i need surgery again to remove them because of the daily pain they are causing me. I dont think anything actually gets rid of them other than surgery.

The one on my left side causes alot of bowel issues and pain for me.
