i had my keyhole surgery today and they have found no signs of endometriosis. I know that this should be good news but i feel like a fraud. I am also now worried as we have no idea where the pain has come from.feels like i have put myself through this for nothing and i am back to square

surgery showed no signs of endometriosis
hi vim. I just wanted to reply as I see no one has and really this is also my worst fear given that I am still waiting for a lap. That they find nothing.
Can I ask was the surgery done by an endo specialist?
From all I have researched I feel also sometimes it can be missed esp. by inexperienced doctors who are not informed re endo.
Have they ruled out adenomyosis also which presents similarly and can be diagnosed with trans vaginal scan?
This was how I was diagnosed with adenomyosis after it was missed on previous scans from non endo nurses who scanned me.
At the end of the day research into any womens conditions is appalling and yes maybe there is another explanation for you .. possibly me also, but I am encouraging you as I try for myself … not to give up , feel bad or like you imagine … that pain felt is real and to maybe do some research where endo has been missed in others to show your doctors or to insist that your gp explores other and you are not just left in pain .
Sending you all the best for this all x.
thank you. Tbey said eveything looked fine and no issues. Letter to gp said its just heavy periods. Its got to be something but who knows what.
they have refitted the coil as last time it was in the wrong place and if it works i am just going to put up with it. Been going through this for years and i am fed up.
I hope yours going well
hi research nancy nook on fb so much advice and also not all gynogoligist can find endometriosis you need a specialist. my daughter has had this for 10 years started at 13 no one believed her it was found through having her appendix out she has had 5 ops now .
please get a second opinion with endo specialists not just a gynogoligist.
hi have you been checked for adeno? I have this and endo. I was diagnosed with adenomyosis via MRI x
Hi Vim,
Sorry to hear what you’re going through it’s very disheartening and I can relate 100%, I had my first lap back in 2019 and was told they couldn’t find anything and it was just common ovarian cysts I was discharged back to my GP. Fast forward two years, visits to gastro, multiple hospital stays due to pain, I had a repeat lap and they found endo everywhere, now I’m waiting for ablation surgery, my consultant was baffled but I kept pushing because I knew something wasn’t right!
Can you ask for a second opinion? Sorry that you’re going through this again, I hope this helps x
i am going to go back to my gp and push. There has to be some reason for the pain. Thank you
Hi Vim..just wanted to send you all my best.I can realte even though i have not been offered a lap.You know your own body and what pain you are living through..as do i.Gynes can be wrong and dismissiv. To which have experienced.Really does put you off but again you know your own body and what pain you are in.I know how easy it is to become dispondent. But from all the lovely women on here i have read lots of women have had laps that has not found anything to later being diagnosed.Sending all my best wishes.
