I had 2 bouts of endo pain tonight. Enough is enough. Do i ask for a gyneo referral at my local doc's, or do i just put up with the searing hot pain nearly every day, or every other day????

I’d say yes you need a referral. If you haven’t been diagnosed you need to know what is causing the pain. Also ask GP for a urine test to make sure it’s not an infection. That doesn’t stop it being both.

Ask via econsult, that way it’s all in writing.

Good luck 🙂

My endo pain doesn't feel searing hot but I guess it depends where the endo is it might cause this pain if it's in the bladder. It feels paralysingly painful but the pain is really hard to descibe for me it's like a drilling, gnawing pain that is so bad I cant stand up when it's very bad, it might be something else. Just go to the GP and get a referrel to a gynae also get a UTI test from the GP and I'd suggest going private if you wnat to get seen in a reasonable time. You need a good scan an MRI or a TV ultrasound with a specialist sonographer. At least if you get checked out you will know what's wrong and you can look into getting it treated, it could be anything causing the pain so get it checked.

Thanks for your interesting reply, i'm talking to the doc on Friday, so hopefully i can get a referral. Just a waiting game i suppose!.

All the best,

I can completely relate to your pain description. I have left sided pain which can refer into my left hip or sometimes up under my rib. It feels like a burning. I feel it is related to my bowel and I have to be very careful what I eat. It is certainly worse the 2 weeks around my period and ovulation, but there very few days of the month where I have no pain at all. I have been diagnosed with stage 4 endo after a laparoscopy in March this year. I’m sorry you are suffering too and it’s good to get it checked out, but I wanted to share that I have a similar pain.

Hi,

I saw on your bio you said you were diagnosed with endo already but do not mention a laparoscopy. Have you seen a endo specialist? If not I’d suggest you ask for a referral as gynaecologist are not expert at all of this condition.

I was diagnosed a year and a half ago with stage 3, got a laparoscopy (with removal of all tissues) which improved a bit my condition then I was suggested to go on pill to limit the progression and symptoms. I was also told that I could need another surgery further down the line.
