Spotting during cycle and laparoscopy for endometriosis

Hi guys,

I am due to have a laparoscopy next week, I have infertility and probably endometriosis (blood filled cysts on ultrasound).

The past few cycles I have had spotting for about 10 days before my period. Has anyone else had experience like this? Hoping my laparoscopy might help with this? I will of course ask the gynaecologist about this when I go in for the procedure, just getting worried about it.

Any similar experiences/stories appreciated

Hey

I get spotting usually after my period, but spotting at any time during your cycle is common with endo as far as I know. Have you looked at the endometriosis UK charity website? It is so helpful for getting knowledge about the symptoms, diagnosis and treatments available. Also lots of support links like a phone line you can call for emotional support. The same people run this group

No problem at all good luck with the laparoscopy! I had mine on the 8th of August and I was so scared they wouldn't find anything. The relief when they told me they did, it is hard to describe to be honest! If you have any other questions or worries then do post or have a look at the previous posts, there's even a search bar so you can search for things with a keyword. I found this super helpful for pre and post surgery advice
