My Endometriosis Story

Hi, my name is Nicole and I’m 28 years old. I was diagnosed with severe Endo about 5 years ago after a Laparoscopy. I had 2 large ‘chocolate’ cysts, 2 subserosal fibrosis and Adenomyosis. Surgery went well, and I’ve been on the contraceptive pill for 4-5 years ever since. I recently came off the pill as me and my husband would like to try for a baby. I happened to come across this support group/charity and thought it would be good to meet others with the same condition, so we can support each other. Happy to answer any questions, and get advice myself. x

Hi Nicole

Thanks for posting and a really warm welcome to the forum! It's a great place to post and receive replies from our community members who really understand what you are going through. Along with our forum, you may be interested in joining one of our face-to-face support groups, which take place all over the UK. To find out if there's one in your area you can visit endometriosis-uk.org/find-a... - if there isn't one locally, we also have an online support group, which is separate to the forum.

Wishing you all the best with starting a family x

Hi Nicole,

Thank you for posting. I’m also 28 years old and have just been diagnosed with deep infiltrating endo in my bowels and some small cysts in my ovaries. The diagnosis came as a big shock and I am currently on a waiting list to see gynaecology … but I really don’t know what the next steps are. My boyfriend and I have talked about pregnancy and honestly I’m hoping to start trying as soon as possible. If you or anyone else could share their experience with regards to their journey to diagnosis / and preparation for pregnancy that would be fantastic. The nurse that referred me told me I would need a diagnostic laparoscopy first, but does this show potential problems with fertility ? Any help would be much appreciated !
