1st period after excision surgery

Hi can anyone tell me if they had a bad first period after surgery? I’m just over 3 weeks post op an just got my period an in agony with my left side is it normal?

Yes, absolutely. I was told by my gynae the first period after the op would very probably be horrificly painful and it was. I think it's really normal because you have been cut around inside and everything is really tender. BUt I think your doctor should have warned you.But it is normal. xx
