Hi, yes it is normal especially as it’s brownish and not heavy. I had some bleeding since week 2 and spoke to my consultant and he came straight back and said it’s when the vaginal stitches dissolve and can carry on to 6-8weeks but usually resolves for brownish when you can have a bath. Only worry if you require to wear pads and have to change it hourly and it’s red red blood. Brown is old blood so please try not to worry.

I hope you are ok I’m on week 5 now I had everything removed vaginal for the uterus and laparoscopic for ovaries tubes cervix etc.

Hope you are healing well big hugs xx

When do you have your follow up with your consultant or gp? It’s best to just run it through with them as I had brown discharge in the early stages then at 2 weeks I got a lot of red blood bleeding and my consultant reassured me it was ok and can carry on. Mine has now stopped sometimes I get the odd spots of blood when I go to the loo as I have quite violent bowels so I am going a lot more than normal people which really worried me however it’s not much blood now. I haven’t noticed but it was never thick very watery too which is a better sign thick would be something that needs checking however some people say don’t be alarmed if you noticed some of the stitches in the discharge.

Have you looked or signed up to hystersisters that’s a very helpful website like this but purely for hysterectomy advice.

I know it’s horrible everything worries me as I am scared to do anything wrong but I think getting to 5 weeks you have done well so take it steady sometimes more bleeding etc can be a sign of doing too much too soon maybe try a few rest days and see if things improve then if not maybe contact your gp if your consultant follow up is too far away as it won’t do any harm checking as they can reassure you.

I’m just counting down till I can have a bath my poor back needs one soon!!

Take care and any questions you have just ask not that I know much just my own experience and my helpful consultant usually comes straight back to me as it’s private he even emailed on Easter Sunday when I was worried about the bleeding xx

I am glad I could give you some reassurance as I went through the same stress myself and I know most do not have a consultant that would reply as fast as mine so I’m always here any questions!! Keep me posted and take care be kind to yourself 💖xx

HiI have entered 6th week .I think things are improving🤞the discharge is very light.hoping for the best.I had a follow up appointment with my doc.she told me the same things which you already told me.Thankyou once again.

please excuse my English.it’S not very good.my doc prescribed me multi vitamin, calcium and Q10 tablets.

I hope things are improving at your end.

Your English is perfect so no worries there 😊! Thank you for letting me know how you are doing, that’s brilliant things are improving and all went well with the doctor. The vitamins and calcium are most likely for your bones as they have to keep on top of them after a hysterectomy especially if you had your ovaries removed. Unfortunately at 35 I already have osteoporosis but I have infusions for my bones yearly so do keep on top of your calcium and vitamin D supplements if you can as osteoporosis is horrible I’ve suffered with lots of breaks over the years.

I’m into week 5 and did my first long walk today and it went really well I was so happy popping to the shops and being out and about again. My tummy is finally a lot flatter now so I could wear trousers again as I’ve been wearing dresses till today so hopefully that’s the swelling going down and healing is happening inside 🙏🏻.

How have you found getting on with HRT? I’ve struggled with the supply shortages and had to spend a fortune getting them from online pharmacies as no local ones can get hold of them which is really annoying and expensive.

Keep well and keep me posted it’s lovely to hear you feeling happier how things are slowly improving. There is a lot of healing to go on apparently it can take a year to fully heal internally xx

HiWow a flat tummy.fantastic.

Today I noticed a tiny spot of blood on the toilet paper when I wiped accompanied with tiny particles of blood.I was happy that things are improving and now this tiny spot of red blood.my doc is away on holidays in the USA.I hope this is not something alarming and the internal stitches are healing.

Has your spotting stopped.?

No my specialist said the spotting etc can carry on up to 8weeks and there will be residual blood there from the surgery too so try not to panic.

My spotting has stopped but this evening I’m literally doubled over in pain which I haven’t had before which has worried me it’s very crampy and painful…..hoping I can rest it off tonight and be extra careful tomorrow as I don’t see my specialist till the 23rd but if you have any questions let me know and I can ask him and pretend they have come from me to help you if you like xx

How is your pain?Good to hear your spotting has stopped.I wonder when I will be able to say the same thing.

It’s very kind of you to offer to ask any Question from your doc on my behalf. you have already answered all my questions.💝

Well if you get anything come up before the 23rd just let me know so I can ask him 🙂 no worries.

Pain is bad today I was burning up all night it’s more my guts than the surgery side I think and waiting to get back to my gastros in June after waiting a year as all the endo surgeries I had to remove it from my bowel haven’t helped so now the gastros have to help as they can’t blame my problems on the endo anymore!!

Hope the spotting stops for you soon, have you tired a bath yet? I’m looking forward to it but first one will be with no soap or bubbles as I’m scared about making anything worse but I know it’s totally safe at 6 weeks so fingers crossed I want it more for my back than anything.

How are you finding the hrt? Take care xx
