Endometriosis and Covid treatment

Hello,

I was just wondering whether endometriosis makes you eligible for covid anti-viral treatment (paxlovid)?

I know it is not an autoimmune disease but it does cause immune dysfunction so would that not qualify you for treatment?

Just wondering if anyone else has had experience of having this conversation with a GP before I go to mine.

I have been extremely careful in the pandemic so far but it seems almost inevitable that I’ll get covid at some point and I’m nervous both of exacerbating my endo and of long covid risk. Im fully vaxxed and boosted but I have never had strong immunity so fear it would still hit me hard.

Im in a new area and don’t know my GP well so again, just curious if other people’s experience before I have the conversation about eligibility.

Thanks so much!

I believe it is only for those who are classified as CEV. The best person to ask is your GP, though. Hopefully somebody on here will be able to tell you more.

The NHS wouldn't even give the antivirals to my husband who is on immunosuppressant drugs for his psoriasis. They put him on a list and said give it five days and if he got to the point where he couldn't breathe to ring them back. All the very best luck to you if you can get them, but I wouldn't bank on getting them x

I really doubt you’d be able to get it. Endo is very different to an auto immune disease and they’re being very particular with who they give it to.
