Hello to all Endo Warriors,

Some of you may follow my story or have replied to some of my posts in the past.

I am finally having excision surgery 🙌 after having a diagnostic lap in 2018 by a general gynecologist surgeon. She used Ablation 🤬 and I was back to square one a month after !

Unfortunately I am having to go private. With the help from family and friends helping me raise the funds. I am over the moon and I've beeb counting down the days until my surgery.

My Endo Specialist is amazing. I have never met anyone quite like him. He listens, is kind and caring. Understands the condition, performs excision surgery. I was recommended to see him from a friend who also has Endometriosis.

Last year my health deteriorated. Ever since my periods came back after having my miracle baby girl. My Endometriosis has been hell!! In August I returned to work a size 12 by September I was a size 8 then October a size 6. I had another bad flare in Feb this year and went down to a size 4. I suffer alot with my bowels on my period and anytime of the month. One minute I've got Diarrhea the next I'm constipated. I suffer with horrendous acid reflux on a daily basis and this has been going on since after my first surgery! I bleed through my bowel every month and I've been like since for 15 or more years! I've had a colonoscopy and I'm all clear.

So this surgery on Tuesday will look fot any Endometriosis on my bowel. I have a left Hematosalpinx fallopian which needs removing. And my left ovary may need taking out as its stuck. Surgeon will try and save it if he can. It was stuck in 2018 but the surgeon wasn't a specialist and she didn't remove the endo. So the endo has killed off my tube and possibly my ovary 😔 the surgeon said he would run some dye through my right tube to check its all ok. And then crack on and check everywhere for Endometriosis and excise it all!

Has anyone had Ablation and excision and notice a difference when they woke up after surgery? I was so poorly after Ablation?? I dont know if this was the reason 🤔 but I couldn't get out of the hospital without collapsing? I had to stay in overnight in the end.

Anyone with any tips/ advice on what to pack for the hospital would be much appreciated 💛💛💛

Hi. Hope you are ok. I haven’t had ablation but for me excision surgery for what turned out to be deep infiltrated endometriosis and a full frozen pelvis was really positive. I was in a lot of pain going into surgery and on waking up ignoring the grogginess and discomfort from the surgery my pain had literally gone, within 4 days I was feeling better than I had in years👍. I was careful not to over do it as I had rushed recovery before and paid the price.

I would suggest a dressing gown and some slippers ( not slip on they didn’t seem to like those mine where like cosy ballet pump type things ) some loose fitting comfy clothes for coming home, something to read or do or listen to, some gentle shower gel/ shampoo so it doesn’t irritate you. Anything you particularly like to eat, I do have bowel endometriosis and it’s diet sensitive which is hard work with hospital food, they only had orange juice for example which is a trigger. I would also recommend taking some peppermint tea or drops to ease any discomfort after surgery. Also give yourself time to recover and have easy meals for when you get home. Good luck and I hope it helps. Xx
