So I’ve just been discharged from the endometriosis clinic for now as I’m trying off birth control as been in it since I was 16yr and 26 this year and I’d like to start a family.
My symptoms so far are manageable although I believe I get sciatic because of my endo now as had it twice since coming off birth control around my period. Certain symptoms I still got on birth control such as extreme pain in my bum on the right side
I so badly want to be a mum but concerned it may never happen. I’m hoping someone in a similar position as me can shed some light to if it’s possible to conceive naturally.
I have ohvira syndrome (it’s rare so I like to say I’m a rarity 🤣), in my discharge letter from the clinic it mentions things I don’t remember being told (either because I was 16 and I just really didn’t care because I just want to do my exams and go to college or it was after a GA). My uterus is adhered to the anterior abdominal wall and is rotated and also has bowel adhered to it. There is no mention of endometriosis on the left side just my right side (including a endometrioma) and outside of my pelvis, in my bowel causing tethering of the large intestine to my rectum
Is anyone either similar or a bit worse that has gotten pregnant?
I’ve achieved my dream job in a great work place and now I just want to be a mum and I’m hoping it’s possible but obviously I only have my left ovary for a chance as no right uterus so o know it will be chance depending on which ovary ovulates just hoping for some so hope that it can happen

Thanks for sharing your story. I am sure this resonates with many people in the community. Managing fertility on top of our endo symptoms can feel really overwhelming.
If you feel you'd like extra support, I'd recommend contacting the Fertility Network: fertilitynetworkuk.org/ They provide useful information for those trying to conceive or going through fertility treatment. Knowledge is empowering, so I hope this may help you.
Endometriosis UK also run support groups across the country where you can connect with other endo warriors who might be living through the same experience as you, and live locally to you. You can find out more about them here: endometriosis-uk.org/find-a...
Hi lovely....So I came off my contraceptive pill around August 2019 as I wanted to try for a baby. I had a laparoscopy back in 2012 and had treatment for endometriosis found on my pouch of Douglas and uterosacral ligament. It took me 14 months to get pregnant.... After trying for around 7/8 months I approached the GP as I had always been told after 6 months to seek further help. They referred me on to fertility/gynae. I had ultrasounds and swabs etc done for the primary investigations and around 3 weeks after the scan I found out I was pregnant...
It's so so hard but I got pregnant when I stopped putting pressure on myself... So my biggest advice is for now just try not to think about it.... Try and get in the mindset of it probably won't happen for a little while why your period's regulate etc etc and I have everything crossed for you x
Thank you! Yeah I’ve been trying to just tell myself if it’s going to happen it will and just try make sure me and my partner definitely do it around my ovulation. I know if I put pressure on us both it’s unlikely to happen but if we just keep having fun it could happen x
Hi, this isn't endo related but any woman trying to get pregnant should read the absolutely excellent Taking Charge of Your Fertility book by Toni Weschler. It explains everything about women's fertility and what you can do to help improve the odds of getting pregnant.
