Hi I’m new to this platform but wanted to know if anyone had any tips on how they went about requesting a hysterectomy from their gp? I’m aware this may be unlikely as I’m only 18 but all the treatment I’ve been given hasn’t helped my pain much.

Hysterectomy on nhs
Hi. I had a full hysterectomy a few years ago for other issues but i also suffered from severe endometriosis. The hysterectomy made no difference to the endometriosis. Forget about a hysterectomy, it really is a big operation and can come with complications (as I found out personally).
What complications did you have if you don't mind sharing? I'm thinking of having a hysterectomy due to Adenomyosis (I don't have endo).
DO NOT!! The pain doesn't go away. I had a life threatening infection from the wound inside and a week after a massive haemorrhage. You're only 25 so very few of any surgeons would agree to do it. Honestly, think twice or 3 times. Once it's done there's no going back. And it may help a little but it won't cure u .
I understand the pain from endo might not go away as its unfortunately not a cure for Endo. But I have Adenomyosis which it is a cure for.
Have u had a UAE
What's that? I had a laparoscopy a couple days ago.
Edit: I found out. For anyone wondering, UAE is uterine artery embolisation and it's a treatment you can try before going as extreme as hysterectomy. But having a look at the studies, the long term results aren't particularly appealing. I don't want to have to keep getting surgeries
I'm in a similar situation except 25. Did you find any advice on requesting a hysterectomy? We're you successful in booking one?
