Been in and out of doctors appointments for years now feeling like no one has taken my concerns seriously. I am in more and more debilitating pain and a small tender lump has been found in my belly.
I am finally going for tests now and have my first ultrasound scan hopefully in a few weeks.
I'm quite nervous cause no one has really told me what to expect or what they'll ask me or anything.
Can anyone else tell me me what happened during theirs ???

Hi Iszabella. I'm so sorry to hear about your experience with not taking you seriously. I wish I could say that was rare :(. I've had several ultrasounds. For mine I had to drink a LOT of water just beforehand - I believe this helps them get a clearer image but you definitely want to pee immediately afterwards! When they bring you in they lie you down and you usually have to take your bottoms off and have some paper over you. They use a gel to connect the machine with your skin to get better contact - it can be a little cold. The sensor is just like a smooth plastic thing they move across your belly on the gel, sometimes with a bit of pressure and they take several 'snapshot' images from different angles. Then they wipe the gel off with a bit of paper, you get dressed and off you go. The results usually come back via the GP. Thats my experience anyway! Hope that helps.
hi Iszabella l am 75 years of age so of course at the other end of the age spectrum l have 9 centimetre cyst on one ovary. My first hospital app was a few weeks ago, had external and internal CT scans the second was a little uncomfortable but nothing to worry for. My follow up appointment is next Monday to discuss next steps, surgery etc.. Hope this puts your mind at rest a little, will let you know how it goes if your duscussion is still here, so possibly Tuesday 1st Feb. Please try not to worry too much, chat soon 🤗🤗
