I'm new here and looking for advice/stories about what other ladies have experienced.
I've suffered with painful periods for a long time and after years of trying every method of contraception I can I have (FINALLY) recently been referred to a specialist consultant who believes the most likely culprit is endometriosis. I'm reluctant to have anything intrusive if I can avoid it, due to problems I've seen my mum go through. So, the consultant has advised that the next thing for me to try would be Zoladex injections.
I know the Zoladex would put me in to a menopausal state, so they have also advised I take HRT to help balance it out.
Has anyone else had this form of treatment? How did you find it? Did it work?
Please give me any and all honest feedback to help me make a decision.
Thank you.

I have zoladex treatment and I was given it with HRT but it works stopped my periods and pain (my pain usually come back around the time the next injection was due) but definitely very good for stopping periods and painThe hot flushes and night sweats just two of the things I struggled with but nothing compared to other endo troubles
I am now currently on the 3 cycle of this treatment but I am having decapetyl and HRT (exactly the same thing) but my body is getting use to it and therefore my system is adjusting and as my endo is stage 3/4 surgery is my only option
But definitely give this treatment a chance you may find it gives you some relief for a period of time to allow you to find other ways or courses of treatment also evening primrose I found a help to
I finished a 6 month course of Prostap almost 2 months ago. I didn't take HRT (I was a bit concerned about the risks)
Endo pain wise, it's been amazing - the pain is no where near as bad. The side effects were pretty rough - tiredness, hot flushes, achy joints, restless legs and arms at night, etc. But it was a lot better than endo pain and I imagine HRT would help with the symptoms.
My periods haven't started again yet, so I can't comment on the long term, but it's been such a relief to have a few months without all the pain!
