It's important that you contact the preassessment team as having covid can increase your chance for infection by 40%, so for your safety, it's important to ask for their advice. My dad was told he wouldn't be able to have his cataract surgery for 7 weeks after having covid due to the infection risk above. Good luck xx
Hey. I was due to have my op 5 weeks after catching covid and they cancelled it-they also said it has to be 7 weeks. The post op death rates after catching covid are higher within the 7 week window. X
Yep same here I had covid at christmas and was due laparoscopy on 5th Jan. I have to wait the 7 weeks for another date now. Its annoying but better to lower the risk.
