How to pick endo specialist centre?

Hi, I’m based in Northern Ireland, I’ve stage 4 endo and after having a laparoscopy it is looking like I need further surgery for adhesions to my bowel. I am considering going to a specialist accredited endo hospital in England as I’ve been advised that there aren’t specialists here in NI that can perform this. I wondered if anyone has any advice as to how to pick where to go or what sort of things I should be finding out about? Also, do I just ask my gp to refer me, can I ask to go anywhere? Thanks in advance for any ideas xx

Hi, sorry I haven’t been on here much lately , been struggling with pain and just trying to get my head round things. Basically, there seems to be no easy way to find out! On here was very helpful though, there are a few girls who have been really helpful and sent private messages me etc, what also helped me was reading through a load of old posts! Obviously it’s a really personal decision, but if there is somewhere you had in mind you could look for reviews related to that place / person specifically. I was advised that just because someone can do something / has an interest in an area, doesn’t mean they do the surgery all the time! Best to go with someone with lots of practice at actually doing surgery day in day out. I looked at all the registered endo centres and then looked into one in particular as I’ve family in the area and it’s not long away flight wise. Then researched this place. Your consultant might also be able to point you in the right direction if you make it clear what you want and why, it is so so easy to be fobbed off and it’s difficult to advocate for yourself but also so important xx
