Betmiga/bladder endo

Has anyone been prescribed betmiga/mirabegron after a laparoscopy and treatment of bladder endo (ovarian and bowel too)? I take it daily and it worked for 2 months post-op - but in the past month it’s not helping and I’m already back feeling like I need a wee all the time! Seeing GP soon - but not sure they’ll have many suggestions and I’m not under gynaecologist anymore. Oxybutyin never worked for me. Any advice? Thanks ps got mirena coil too

Hi, not a drug I'd heard of, and could have done with in the past. Did you have a full multidisciplinary team op as bladder and bowel involved? Sounds like you had quite a bit done. Not sure why you aren't still with gynae with everything you've gone/going through. When you speak to GP ask for a referral back to gynae, if you weren't under the multi team, get a referral to your local specialist. Don't let them put you off.

Have a look around who the specialist is, ask for all the hospitals to be added and the booking reference number. I did this with carpal tunnel recently, saw the consultant within about 2/3 wks at a private hospital treating NHS, two weeks quicker than the normal hospital, treatment a week later.

Thanks, luckily I got put under a v good gynaecologist so he diagnosed and removed in same op. As I got the overactive bladder drug and coil he discharged me - although said I could contact direct if needs be. Not sure how that works as I’m nhs (he’s mainly private) but you’re right it’s probably worth trying my luck with that before my GP. Thanks

Sounds like a good gynaecologist. Sometimes the NHS hospitals have consultant secretary’s listed on the website, or give the gynaecology dept a call and they can tell you.If you wanted to pay for a consultation you can do it that way as well.

Hope you get it sorted soon, not easy 🤞

Hi I tried Betmiga it helped with peeing but I felt I put in weight and was even more bloated so came off it. Bgse have suggested I get gp to refer me to urogynecology. Gp tried me with amitriptiline again first but only tolerated 3 nights at half dosage so I e got to ask for that referral. Also went through physio for Endo which didn’t help with peeing. I do t have bladder Endo but it had affected my left kidney function as my ureter is squashed.

Thanks, that’s interesting. I’ve put on weight but didn’t know how much was being less active and how much the coil. Didn’t think of this being the/a cause! Some interesting things you mention for me to look into too. All initial urology and gynaecological scans showed nothing until I had the laparoscopy - but now we know more it could help if I push for further referrals. Thanks
