Hi- I’ve had my lap today and removal of left ovary and cyst. Also a small cyst on right ovary which didn’t know was there but ovary has been left which is good as I wanted to avoid surgical menopause.
There was no endo to excise which I’m grateful about. Consultant does think I have Adenomyosis as the womb was very bumpy. I’ll need to read up about this. He did say it might mean there is no improvement in my heavy periods which is a bit disappointing.
The experience was better than I expected. I suffer from anxiety so was quite worried about it all. So far, less painful than my two sections. Gas pain is the worst just now. Peppermint oil and tea has been helping.
Im very lucky to have been able to have this done privately through my insurance at husbands work.
Cysts and endometrial biopsy sent to labs so I’m hoping that is all clear. Zoom follow up in 4 weeks I think he said. I’ll need to compile my questions for then.
I’ve been signed off work for 4 weeks but am able to go back before then if feel able. I was really hoping to be back in 2 but understand it’s important not to rush it.
