Long term success

Is there anyone here who has had long term success from excision surgery? I have a date next month for surgery but am getting very concerned for a number of reasons one being the number of women with recurrence of endometriosis soon after being told it had all been removed. Mine is severe with bowel involvement so I’m worried about surgery possibly making things worse than they already are and considering cancelling. It’s so frightening having to put your trust in a surgeon you essentially know nothing about.
