Have just been diagnosed with stage 4 rectovaginal endometriosis with chocolate cysts by laparoscopy. My consultant recommends 3 months of decapetyl to suppress endo growth pre-op for a thorough excision surgery of my endo. What have your experiences of this medication been, have the benefits outweighed the side effects?
Very daughting going into menopause at 24yo

Hi Nurseredhead, I've been on decapeptyl injections monthly for over 17 months (I'm 39 and waiting for a full hysterectomy), I wasnt overly excited to have them but I had tried everything else, it was the best decision in terms of dealing with my pains and no more periods so no more heavy bleeding! I started taking HRT after 3 months as the hot flushes were killing me 😂🥵, it's also helped with reducing the growth of my endo/cysts, the down sides hair loss, weight gain and I'm now getting headaches, but we are all different, good luck with whatever u decide xx
