I just received a call following my. Surgery which was meant to be 4 weeks after however I had to call because I heard nothing it’s now almost 12 weeks!

The lady who rang me was awful basically said everything was normal no endo and only minimal tissue on bowel. When I was told he had to leave some tissue on bowel as couldn’t removed all and found adenomyosis which she didn’t say anything! I basically said no one has gone through chances of being pregnant or having a baby ect and she just told me it’s easy with adeno! I just feel like what the fuck! ( sorry I’m just so annoyed)

That’s so shit of them! I am so so sorry. It’s really important to you and they didn’t explain, which is very distressing. I would be very angry too.

The helpline are great at listening and helping process this stuff. They’ve been amazing to me. I am so grateful.

When you’re ready, and if you’re ready they will help you know your rights and are a good sounding board for what action, if any, to take next.

I don't know if it helps, but I have endo and was recently diagnosed with adeno as well - I had my 2nd lap just over a fortnight ago. I've never been given any info after either of the laps or during any of my appointments about my fertility etc - I think you might need to specifically make them aware and maybe have further testing in order for that info to be discussed (by that I mean I don't think specific fertility info is given as standard).

That said, it does sound like you've have a crappy follow up after surgery - you shouldn't have had to wait so long when they said 4 weeks, and you defo shouldnt have had to call them 12 weeks down the line 😭 That's just not fair to you xx

Exactly. She tried telling me ‘so everything was fine everything was normal during surgery’ I was like what?? The surgeon said I have adeno she said yes but not endo & I was like so not normal then !! Tried telling me adeno doesn’t affect fertility when research says other wise I’m just so shocked

Put in a complaint to PALS. You can also request your notes from the surgery and you’ll be able to see what they say

Your hospital’s website should have a form where you can request your records. You can specify what you want
