Hi , just wondered if anyone has had similar experience? I had hysterectomy 20 years ago! When I had operation I had an abdomen full of violin string adhesions which took a long time to separate. Since then I have had bouts of right sided abdominal pain, nausea and fatigue. Now been diagnosed with low vitamin b12. All investigations have been ok. Have read that a damaged vagus nerve can cause gastric problems. Would value any help and advice, thanks

Hi I was diagnosed last Feb at 51 with Endo and Hysterectomy in November. I've looked in to and discussed with others about the Vagus nerve. I came across a good link recently which shows the nerves quite well. I'll PM you, might help. I've been told I have residual nerve damage and that's whats causing my pain. The pain consultant won't try a nerve block as he says it would be too difficult the right nerve. I have bad gastro issues, lost over 30kg since late 2019, barely eating anything.
Thanks for replying Moon maiden. We seem to have had similar experiences. I would be happy for you to put link on forum as it may help someone else as well. You sound as if you have had a rough time.have you had your b12 checked.? I have started to feel a bit better since starting 3monthly injections. It has taken me many years of pain, nausea and fatigue to get to this point. I do hope that you start to feel better soon. Take care 🙂
I sent a pm as they don't like external links on the main forum, I've done it in the past. 🙂I did have various checks in the last blood test earlier this year, all came back ok. I'll have to check if that included B12, pretty sure it did. A couple of years ago I asked for Vit D which was very low, GP thought I was nuts asking at the time for it to be added. I've lost count of how often I've proved myself right.
I've heard it can take a while for something like B12 to get back to normal, fingers crossed you keep feeling better. It's silly how long it takes to get things just on the right track.
I also had a hysterectomy in 2018 and endo excision in 2023. Also scar tissue everywhere. The right sided flare that you refer to also radiates down my right thigh. I'm going to a rather advanced pain specialist and he's exploring my problems at the moment. I have a lot of constiption and this is what he is also working on. He had talked about a vagal nerve stimulator. I'm just starting this journey with him.
