I'm looking for some advice from anyone experiencing similar problems to myself , I was sterilised in January 2020, during surgery they discovered I have endometriosis stage 3 and I was diagnosed with adenomyosis at the end of last year also told I have a sticky left ovary and cyst in wall of the womb, although my periods are very painful thankfully I've never had heavy periods, I do suffer alot of pelvic pain and really bad mood swings throughout the month which has got worse as I've got older , I'm now 39, I saw my gynecologist a few months ago and he said my only option to maybe relieve the pain is a hysterectomy, he isn't keen on doing that before I try microgynon 30 for a while to see if that helps with moods and pain , I've been taking it since end of may without a break I've had some spotting the last couple of weeks and last few days have started bleeding , my gyny said there's no need to take a break on this pill and best not to because my periods are extremely painful however I'm still getting pain , I've read it might be good to take a 4 day break . I think if my partner hadn't of just had a major operation then I would take a hysterectomy asap 🤦🏼♀️ is it to soon to tell if these pills are working , I know I need a good 6 months on them , but if anyone has been through similar problems please help ! Sorry for such a long post ! Just for info I don't have any children and have never been pregnant, although there was one suspected miscarriage in my 20's .

Anyone going through the same thing...?
Hi!
I can't help with options on microgynon, but I didn't want to read and run! I was diagnosed with adenomyosis yesterday following a lap for endo excision so also facing a hysterectomy (no date for this yet!)
Rather than the pill, I have the mirena coil which I've have for 2.5 years with no bleeding at all - my consultant said yesterday this this is the preferred 'treatment' to try for adenomyosis before resorting to hysterectomy - might your Dr be able to stop your pill and place a coil for you until such time that you can have the hysterectomy?
I hope you're having a pain free day!!!
Hi thanks for replying, unfortunately the coil didn't work for me , I was in extreme pain every day once they'd inserted it, they even had to do it under anesthestic because my uterus kept going into spasm everytime they tried ! Should of been a warning sign there I guess , however 3 months after insertion I had it removed and instantly was able to get on with a "normal" life for a while until the other symptoms crept back, I think sterilisation has irritated things too! I've decided to stop my pill this morning , give myself 3 or 4 days break , I'm already getting cramps and pain but I'm hoping it will pass asap , I do think hysterectomy is inevitable , sorry to hear you are going through it too ..
