I have severe period pain which is making me too scared to ever come off contraceptives. It's bad, slow breathing, midnight scalding baths, rocking on my knees, bad.
anyway, I've started thinking about how I get occasional pain around my ovaries (mostly right) but I've never considered it as a problem before as I seem to compare anything painful to my period pain which seems to invalidate it, as I believe it can't be that bad if it's not as bad.
anyone else have an ovarian cyst where the symptoms didn't seem as bad in comparison?

hi hun how's u doing today, I had a cyst that managed to get to 5cm before I started feeling symptoms, and it was horrible when I did. it's possible that the contraceptive is making ur symptoms worse? I can't use hormonal treatments anymore as they seem to make my endometriosis worse, since coming off them yrs ago my pain leveled out and I'm now on pain management, if you eva fancy a chat plz pm me xxxx
that's interesting! I just thought about it, that there's pain there but I don't even consider the idea of a cyst because I assumed I'd be in agony, a lot of people say how it took hospital admission before they go listened to and I've never in my life been admitted to hospital, nor gone to a&e with the pain. So I'm not really sure, I always think if I can cope with my day 1 period pain I can cope with anything
😂 😂 🤣 ur strong il give ya that, nah it wasn't agony 😂 until it was, everything escalated quickly. I noticed it was a different pain to what I get with endometriosis and was more n more noticeable when on n ovulating xxx
I used to get period pain like you and the last few years of my periods (I've been through the menopause) I noticed the pain was more intense over my left ovary. I thought having painful periods was just bad luck and something i had to put up with so I had no investigations done.
Once I'd been through the menopause though, whilst I no longer had pain from periods, I noticed the niggling pain over my left ovary remained. When scanned it turned out to have an endometrioma on it (cyst.) They did a lap to remove it and found that my left ovary was stuck to my pelvis with endometriosis and apparently would have been like that for years.
So you may well have a cyst. My periods were definitely more painful than the cyst. Only problem is removing the ovary and ablating the endo has caused more pain than the cyst ever did, so be careful how you proceed.
