Undiagnosed endo, lap and biopsy next week

Hi everyone

I’m new here but have been lurking reading your posts which have helped, thank you.

I’ve suffered with pain that takes my breath away at times, hip pain, reoccurring ovarian cysts, rosacea, bloating irregular periods and constipation for a few years. It’s got worse the past two. I’ve got mirena already (personal choice). Consultant suspects endo. My womb lining is ‘thicker than it should be’ on the mirena so they’re going to do a biopsy while I’m out having the lap next Monday. He put me on the urgent list so it’s just been about 6 weeks from consultation to operation.

My problem is (and I’ve read many of you saying the same) I’m worried that won’t find anything and I will still be in pain and nowhere to go. Now of course that sounds crazy, i want a clean bill of health but I feel that if that’s not the answer then I’m at a dead end and will just have to deal with the pain. I’m 48 and peri menopausal so I’m at the end of my teather. Irregular Ericsson have been the Bain of my life for probably 25 years.

Anyway, I’m rambling but is love to hear from anyone in a similar position to find out what happened if it wasn’t endo?

I had my first lap in June and I was so worried that they’d find nothing and no one would believe how much pain I was in! On one hand I wanted to not have endo because I was worried about the fertility side of things but on the other at least I’d have an answer to why I’m in so much pain. Luckily (or unluckily whichever way you look at it) I was diagnosed with endo. As long as your consultant/surgeon is a specialist and knows what to look at least you know you’re in good hands. Thanks for your reply. After I posted I got a letter from my gynaecologist saying he will discuss with me doing a hysteroscopy as I have a thick endometrial lining considering I have the mirena. I also have endometrial cysts, fluid in the pouch of Douglas and a corpus luteum. Surgery is on 16th so guess I will just have to wait and see when I wake up from it all!
