Having a Bad Day

Hi Guys,

I’m really sorry this is my first post and it’s not exact positive.

I’m having a mare of a day.

I can’t have kids, just not happening. I have a miracoil? Something like that! Because it’s supposed to help with the symptoms and my gynaecologist said kids aren’t an option so might as well get some relief. I can’t say it’s working.

I’m sorry to sound so negative but I’m so sick of this. I’ve asked to have a hysterectomy six times and counting. I’ve been told: “you’re too young, you might want kids”. “You’re too young you don’t want to be on HRT”. “You’ve got too much scar tissue because of the previous operations”. “You’re coping so well I don’t think we need to do anything” and finally “you’re too old you’ll go through menopause in a few years anyway”.

I am in so much pain today and I just want to give up.

I’m sorry to be a downer but I was hoping here was the place to share.

Sending you a hug, it’s hard. I think with this illness we all have bad days, the medical professionals really should listen when you say you want a hysterectomy, I don’t have children and told about 3 years ago if treatments don’t work then this is the only avenue to go down but I am 39 now. How old are you? X

Hi lovely. What a sad post... Sending you loads of hugsIt's sounds like you have been through a long journey, a painful one, did you try a second opinion? Or endo specialist?

Hello! I’m new to this group too and I was hoping to use the group as a support mechanism. I’ll be writing my own rant/feelings soon. I’m sorry to hear you’re going through a tough time. The consultants should really listen to you because you are making an informed decision and making it willingly. I hope you are feeling better soon and you make progress towards what you want. At the end of the day, it’s your body and you know what’s best for you. Xx

That’s a bit misleading. If they give a partial hysterectomy (leave your cervix and ovaries) then it shouldn’t send you into menopause. My mom had a hysterectomy at about 40 and didn’t have menopause for around another 20 years. I think a total hysterectomy can cause a raft of other problems. Have they explained why you can’t have children? Is your endometriosis very severe? Twisted ovaries etc. I have endometriosis and adenomyosis and the dr said to me that there should be no problem with having children but obviously everyone’s case is different.

hi hun how's u doing? I'm sorry to hear that ur suffering 🙁 I was told in 04 that I would neva be able to have children due to scar tissue, I was absolutely devastated, I came off my pill (didn't see the point in putting unnecessary drugs in my body) within the month I was pregnant 🤷 I've since had another 2 children.after I had my 3rd I had my tubes tied (my body couldn't cope with another pregnancy) I also asked for a hysterectomy at least 4 time's being told the same thing.

unfortunately unless ur surgeon has endometriosis they will never be able to understand us, Dr's do get it wrong so plz don't give up hope that you could have children. I also get that you feel like giving up, after 24yrs years of pain I've given up on myself more time's than I can count, if u want to talk please pm me xxx hope you feel better soon xxx
