My periods have been so awful this is the last thing the GP can prescribe me before another referral to gynae which the GP thinks is pointless as I've already had surgery? Can anyone else suggest anything for pain management? I have done Pilates, changed my diet tried the homeopathic route and nothing so far.

Hi I was on rigivedon but all I used it for was contraception, it never worked to stop bleeding nor did a lot of the other pills that I tried. Doesn’t mean it won’t work for you tho. I would say if it doesn’t work then you need referred back to a gynaecology specialist to see what other treatment options there are x

Thank you :). How did you find the pain?

The pain never stopped, I have labour like pains. Now on decepeptyl injections and that has made a big difference along with some HRT. I was told I can only be on these injections for 2 years maximum, on this to see if it works and if it does then I will have to get a hysterectomy x

I was on microgynon, taking it back to back with no break. It stopped my periods and reduced the pain significantly. I’ve had to come off it due to my age as I think you can’t take it past 35yrs. Been on the mini pill for 5 days and haven’t stopped bleeding the whole time, really heavy 😤 x

I’m worried if this does not work what the next step is feels like I’ve done everything I can. I remember that pill Microgynon gave me migraines when I was a teenager.

I was on Ridevegon and it made my endo worse! I mentioned it to a specialist at a consultation and they said that a lot of women with endo don’t seem to get on with it (I think it’s because it contains so much Estrogen and Endo is an estrogen dominant disease).

I’ve been getting the depro jabs since December and things have been getting better though; have they prescribed you Menafanic Acid? I take that when my periods are bad and find it helps x

I was prescribe Rigevedon before given the option to see a gynaecologist and for me, it was such a waste of time.

I have chronic pain all the time, not just my period and it didn’t help with that… even the bleeding, didn’t stop.

I guess it’s different for everyone tho… with your pain being around your periods, I would recommend giving it a try to see if it helps xx
