Hi Ladies

Just a quick question, are you protected from pregnancy on your 7 day break from the pill? I have seen so many different answers online 🙄 x

Hello Aurora,

I believe that you aren’t protected on your 7 day break whilst on the pill. As far as I’m aware, you must take your pill within a 3 hour time frame daily to be protected from pregnancy so my assumption would be that during your break, it is possible to conceive despite your usual menstrual cycle. If you are unsure, I would definitely have this conversation with your GP as some contraceptive pills work differently to others.

Hope this helps!

Then you for your reply, just rang the GP they said you are protected if you take regularly!

Yes, of course you are protected during the 7 day break if you are taking the pills correctly.

You can ask someone at the chemist / pharmacy to explain (bring the packet with you), or read the inside leaflet which comes with your pill.
