Hello everyone. I am currently under investigation for endometriosis after speaking to several doctors and gynaecologists since the age of 11, I am 26 next month! After saying ‘it’s just a bad period’.
I have eventually signed the consent forms for the operation just waiting on a date now. I am currently unable to work with constant everyday flare ups of severe pain. Could anyone give me any advice on how to help ease the pain. I am on medication every day, using a tens machine and hot water bottles but nothing seems to help me.
Hiya, sorry to hear you’re going through all this - I can definitely relate… I wish I could suggest something for the pain, but after 15 years of undiagnosed endo and a full early hysterectomy, I’m still struggling… I was given mefenamic acid and strong cocodamol when I had endo, it did knock me out, but definitely helped with the pain 🤷🏻♀️
Sorry I can’t help much with pain relief, but I wanted to reach out to say you’re not alone x
Hello. Thank you for replying. It’s awful. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. It has literally taken over my life at the moment which is not a nice feeling. They have had to give me tramadol due to nothing else touching the pain as it is getting worse everyday, but I don’t want to be hooked on them (if you know what I mean) thank you for getting back to me. I hope the operation finally tells me what I have been waiting to hear for years.
hi sweetie how's u? I'm sorry to hear that ur suffering, I understand you completely it's been 24yrs of agony and I'm still getting looked at like I'm talking crap 😂 I'm on 600mg pregabalin, 30mg dihdrocodine and 30mg/ph butrans patches. I also smoke cannabis and find that to be the most efficient and fastest pain killer, it won't get rid of it completely but it will make it so u are comfortable. hope you get the help u need xxx
Hello. Having a really bad flare up today😢 I have considered smoking cannabis to see if it helps me get through daily activities and try and get me back to work! Thank you xxx
Hey, sorry to hear about the pain you are going through and how long it has taken you to get a diagnosis. I am also awaiting a laparoscopy. I am using mefenamic acide and I use these menthol patches recommended to me on an Endo instagram page. These work an asolte treat. I am a teacher and work in a school and find it so hard not to react when flare ups and pain kick in. I hope this helps and that all works out well for you!
Hello, thank you. I have tried mefenamic acid several times and it doesn’t seem to help. Im currently trying cpd oil from our remedy which has been made specifically for menstrual cramps which has helped me daily. I will have a look at the patches as I am currently still off work as I work in hospitality which I am on my feet 12 hours a day! I’m willing to try anything to get me back to work. Thank you
Hi lovely. So sorry to hear you’ve had to wait so long to get a diagnostic lap.
For me, ibuprofen helps. It doesn’t get rid of the pain completely but on days when the pain is unbearable and it’s a 10/10. If eases the pain to a 6/10. Which makes it more manageable
