I have not yet received a diagnosis for endo and have been going to the doctors for about a year but am still pushing as I have all the symptoms and am experiencing pain and bleeding at least once a week for varied lengths. I am on the contraceptive pill and have read that stopping taking it shows the full extent of what is going on. I was wondering if anyone has tried this to get through to doctors and if it is a good idea.
Thanks xx

I've come off the pill a couple of years ago because my husband had the snip so we had permanent contraception. Since then my symptoms have got considerably worse pain wise, and honestly the doctors I saw were still not very interested in finding the reason. I would say if you're feeling frustrated like I was, get yourself a private endometriosis specialist who is BSGE registered. That way you get someone with real knowledge of endo who is more qualified to help you. I wouldn't recommend coming off the pill purely so you get diagnosed, it could cause so many complications health wise and really land you in deep water. Allowing endo to run ragged (like it most likely has for me for the last 2/3 years) could cause it to start growing in serious places! Please speak to a doctor before deciding anything.
Saying that, i do understand why you want to come off them. I was sick of taking pills when they couldn't diagnose me, so I get that feeling. Just maybe try the private route as they could get you answers faster without the need to come off medication and make yourself worse xxx
