Feeling very down today, been clothes shopping to get some bits for are holiday. Came home tried on the clothes what I brought and my stomach is so swelled I really do look like I'm pregnant 😔 all going back 😔 I'm even thinking of not going because I feel that self conscious (ridiculous I know) I'm awaiting to have laparoscopy excision to have endo removed. Please someone tell me the endo belly goes? And does it take time or is it noticeable pretty instant.

Hey, my stomach gets swollen too and it makes me really self conscious because it’s not something I’ve ever had before. I’m waiting for my laparoscopy too (been waiting 7 months already so I’m hoping it won’t be much longer!) I do hope it’ll get better after surgery because it’s just not a nice feeling when some days I can’t even get my jeans on 😩 zx
I feel your pain, I'm at my happiest at the moment when I'm in baggy pyjamas 😆 this time last year I could wear tight fitted clothing and didn't have such a swollen stomach 😔 let's hope after we've had surgery things get better 🤞 hope you don't have to wait to much longer now. X
First of all everyone is more worried about how they look to even notice how you look. Enjoy your break. Lives too short to give up fun moments. Try castor oil pack to help with the swelling and make sure you’re drinking water.
I've had Endometriosis belly for years. Mine is so bad I've only been able to wear dresses with maternity tights for years. My dream would be to be able to wear jeans again but I know it isn't going to happen. They just hurt me so I can't wear them, also ordinary tights, anything tight at the middle. Do you notice it's much better in the morning and gets worse as the day goes on? This is quite classic of endo belly.
As if we didn't have enough to cope with.
My advice would be dress for comfort because you'll look and feel worse if your clothes cause you more pain. It's possible to look good by wearing clothes that don't draw attention to it. Haha I've had plenty of experience. It is horrible though.
Are you certain what you've bought is as bad as you think? I'd try them all on again before taking everything back. xx
sorry to hear your feeling down. My Endo belly can come and go through out the day. Eg start the morning fine by the evening I look 5 months pregnant. Be kind to yourself unfortunately it’s a symptom of the disease. Don’t let it stop you from going on holiday or doing things you enjoy xx
I used to always get the endo belly. I ended up addressing gut health issues, cutting out added sugar and yeast from my diet, along with processed foods and taking things like very good probiotics, which have really helped. Here's an article to check out... journalwithhaley.com/2020/0...
PS. With regards to the article... I've just found it and thought it had some good starting points in it and some very good explanations. Personally , I don't find meditation helps me at all. I do find just walking out in nature very good for my body and soul though. And I've never written a letter to my endo belly, lol!! I have looked into "Gut Dysbiosis" though and changing diet, etc has made a real difference. xx
