Starting the endo diagnosis journey but I'm still not sure...

Hello - earlier this year I started the endo diagnosis journey after nearly 20 years of traipsing in and out of the doctors with multiple symptoms. I've been told it's IBS, it's your hormones and you're a woman, it's just one of those things you have to live with. Last year I had enough, I started bleeding during sex, sex started to hurt even more than normal, I was bleeding in between periods and my 'IBS' symptoms were off the chart.

I decided to keep a granular diary and I noticed that my IBS symptoms were only at certain times of the month. So, with notebook in hand I marched into a doctors surgery and demanded to be referred to a gynecologists.

Since then I have had a scan and a MRI and both have come back clear. They have discovered that my uterus is retroverted and I have a fibroid, which they're not concerned about.

I opted to remove my mirena coil in the hope that it was this causing all the issues but I'm still suffering with the bloating, pain in my left hip, lower tummy and bowel, pain when going to the toilet (#2, it feels like piles but it's not).

Has anyone else had the same experience as me? I can remember having extremely painful periods in my teens, blood clots and passing out from the pain but the older I have become they seem to behave themselves. I struggled to get pregnant with my son, it took us nearly two years and I missed carried with my first pregnancy at 13 weeks. My mum also suffered with extremely heavy periods and had a hysterectomy at 33. My symptoms are all over the place and this had left me doubtful about my suspected diagnosis.

I'm now on the waiting list for a laparoscopy to see if I actually do have endometriosis.

I'm undiagnosed also, but I completely empathise with you!

I'm having a horrid pain in my bum currently, I also get some pain in my bladder. If me and my husband have sex I get deep pain and cramping after even if there was no pain during, this month I've also had spotting too after sex. Horrid pains down my right hip, shoulder and lower back with a load of bloating. So I definitely understand lovely, it's not pleasant!

I'm glad your gyne has listened, that's really got to be a weight off your mind. Mine was totally unsupportive and refused to even do an MRI! Having to go private and I'm literally counting down the days until I see the specialist. Please don't doubt your symptoms, let them do the lap and just go from there 😘

Similar to you as well I had the same experience with periods as a teen, I started them at about 11 and would vomit and roll around crying. Over time I've managed not to be crying every time (though I'll be honest, I do sometimes still) but its still leaves me bed ridden, also horrid ovulation pain! I had a miscarriage with my first that they couldn't explain, but have since had 2 children 11 and 5. I was young thankfully or I think I may have had more trouble. I hear though that fertility issues only effect around 30-40% of endo women, so I'm trying not to read to much into the fact that I had kids naturally.

I hope you manage to get some answers, please try not to talk yourself crazy lol I do it all the time and it's not good for your mental health. You know something is wrong, trust your body. Hopefully the lap will give you some answers!
