Prostap injection

I have just had the prostap 3 injection just over a month ago seems to of helped upto now but today I have started heavy bleeding ?? Is this normal I thought my periods would stop ?

Hi hope your well as you can be,

I also had some issues regarding this when I was on the decapeptyl injection for 6 months, my bleeding did not stop until the 5th injection and I was told it was due to the HRT that I was taking alongside aswell. I’m not sure if your taking any sort of HRT however, as soon as I stopped taking it my bleeding did eventually stop.

Are you taking any sort of HRT?

No I haven’t need to be on HRT yet as I don’t have any side effects as of yet (fingers crossed ) I did only have my injection about a month ago x

I’m on Prostap too and was doing okay on it but then a month ago got put on HRT and since then I’ve had on and off bleeding and the return of some of my symptoms again 😞 xx

Oh no I am so sorry to hear that 😥.. well I have been doing well upto now and it’s just really heavy bleeding and pain again !

Ask the GP as it could be a side effect of HRT, or you bodies reaction to HRT with your injection.

Similar issues with Zolodex and Livial. The Gynecologist mentioned sometimes the ovaries work before they are switched off with the medicines. It sort of made sense but I have lost confidence in them for a few reasons. Haven’t bothered to research if this is true or not as I have been so physically unwell.

Thank you I will call my gp today . I haven’t needed to start HRT yet as I haven’t had any side effects as of yet x

Hi Claire I had prostap and started bleeding heavily after my first injection I did actually stop them after my 3 rd voluntarily as I couldn’t stand them anymore my circumstances may be different to yours I had Fibroids

Apparently it doesn’t really kick in till 2nd month .
