Lidocaine patches - pain clinic &GP

I have stage 4 endo and adeno and in severe pain every day due to the disease and the damage it has caused.

I’ve waited over one year for an appointment with the pain clinic to be told there is very little they can do as I’m already on the “best” pain relief.

However they did recommend Lidocaine 5% patches which gave me some hope.

But now my GP has refused to prescribe it. Seems they are quite cruel and don’t want to help as I have a battle with them every time I have to speak to them.

Very very upset by this. Does anyone know what I can do? Can I buy them anywhere?

Don’t know how much longer I can carry on like this.

HiI don’t know why GP’s do this. Do you have a copy of the letter they sent to GP after your appointment?

If you do, try filling in the econsult and include the letter, you can upload pics, asking why they are refusing to act on the consultants request. You can also phone pain sec to say GP surgery are ignoring their advice and can you get a prescription through them.

It’s not something you want to get on the net as they’d be from abroad. You won’t know if they are an untested product with a genuine licence.

You’d have a genuine reason to complain about your GP. The econsult will show that you made a request in writing. If you don’t have the letter request a copy from GP.

We don’t need this stress on top of everything else, this should be quite easy to resolve 🙂

Let us know how it goes. 👍🙂

I’m on lidocaine patches for my spine but when my ovarian pain and/or period pain gets too much I will put one on each ovary. It helps as I’m usually passing out from pain, bleeding like a slaughtered calf and vomiting.

I would think you cannot buy them as they are a prescribed medication.
