rant/ vent, so had my first face to face consultation with consultant today he was 45 minutes late to see me then said my bloods were fine and no endo markers and disagrees with the urologists diagnosis stating i don't have any urinary symptoms and asked if they offered me treatment, i stated no they saw the dark red patches in my bladder and a cyst and said it was endo and made a referral for endo specialist he stated that they wouldn't operate on the bladder to which i said they usually have other surgeons there for bladder/bowls from what I've researched on endo site , he didn't have the ultrasound result even though i had it on 18.3.21 and had to phone through for them and then said everything looks fine i stated that endo doesn't show on ultra sound scans he has said they will do a lap in June and treat any endo found and was pushing me to have a coil fitted at the same time to which i said i don't want a foreign object in my body he then kept pushing saying what are you using at the moment to which i said nothing, he then stated it would shrink endo tissue and from what I've read this isn't the case can i have peoples opinions on this and any similar experiences please

As far as I believed, Endo doesn't show on blood tests or ultrasounds though I may be wrong! From personal experience I have been lucky that my consultant has been fantastic. He was clear that the only option for diagnosis was lap and felt my symptons were a possible cause. He did push for me to have a coil fitted immediately. I refused because the thought of it makes me cringe. When it came to surgery day he asked me again and said it was the best way to keep it at bay and to be honest he was right. They fitted it when I was out cold and it has helped. I have had to take nothisterone as well as although the speed of the endo had slowed it was still going the wrong way. The coil also takes 6 months to settle and I'm 6 months in June so also another reason for the nothisterone.
You might have caught them on a bad day but the unfortunate thing is they are the experts so it is better to let them lead you in my eyes. I don't worry about my coil at all and its worth a try. If you don't like it after a while then get your GP to take it out. Its worth a try.
Long story short, there's a lot of red flags here and if I were you I'd ask for a second opinion from another specialist.
If you have signs of severe endo (which from above it looks like you do - inside the bladder definitely counts) you're entitled to care under a BSGE centre. They can (and regularly do) perform surgery on the bladder working with a bladder surgeon.
Don't give up because of this one jerk of a doctor.
If you're not comfortable with the coil, don't let them force you. It can definitely help your symptoms big time and has really helped mine but there's no one-size-fits-all when it comes to hormones so if you'd like to try a contraceptive do a bit of research on your options, put them in order of what you'd like to try first and work through them until you find one that works for you. Pill, mini pill, coil, injection, implant, patch are all options and there's different brands of those too which can affect people differently. They just like pushing the coil at people because its easy to put in during a lap and its one of the cheapest options 🙃 go with what's best for you, not best for a rude gynaecologist!
