Since December I have been experiencing some strange symptoms which are not normal for me. I am pretty sure they are related to my menstrual cycle but not sure and need some advice.
I have been experiencing pelvic pain and lower back pain most days. I feel bloated and feel that there is something swollen under my breast bone and I am squashing it. I also get really bad pains in my right shoulder that feels like I have a trapped nerve that can last for days at a time.
I was sent to A and E a few weeks ago because the doctor thought I might have pancreatitis or gall stones due to my pain in the right shoulder. I had an ultrasound but came back clear.
I also had a pelvic ultrasound which I have received the results today and that has all come back clear. I did think I have endometriosis but now I dont know and I am not sure what to do next. I am so uncomfortable most of the time and really struggling to lose weight. I feel so down and dont know what to do next. Can anyone advise and has anyone experienced similar symptoms.

Heya. ♥️ It’s extremely hard to diagnose endometriosis with an ultrasound, as it doesn’t always show up. A laparoscopy is required to fully determine if you have endo.
I can’t comment on the list of symptoms as my medical knowledge doesn’t stretch that far, but I would push your GP for further investigation. I have IBS alongside endo and bowel discomfort and bloating can feel like internal pressure and shoulder pain from excess gas but that it just speaking from personal experience.
I would ask for an MRI or at the very least keep pushing for investigation - if a test is clear, but the symptoms are still there, all that means is that they haven't found the cause yet, not that there isn't a problem! I find voicing that to doctors who might be pushing back on testing tends to help, because they can't deny the symptoms are still there.
As for the ultrasound, endo can only be officially ruled out after a laparoscopy. It can be diagnosed through an ultrasound or MRI (usually in severe cases, as happened with me), but it's relatively rare. And again, even if it's not endo, it's definitely something, and worth investigating!!
Agree 100% on the ultrasounds. I had four over the course of 2 years and they were always clear. The radiologist even told me once I must just have really big ovulations - never heard of such a thing. When I finally had a laparoscopy I had stage 4 endo and scar tissue literally everywhere.
For me I made the decision to have the laproscopy because I thought at least if it wasn't that, it would rule it out and they might even see what else it was. Lucky for me, it was endometriosis!
